What to wear to the gym?

The list of clothes for training is the same for both men and women. The recommendations will also be general. It is advisable to have two sets of clothes to be able to wash the uniform immediately after training. The main thing to pay attention to when buying is not the price and brand, but the material and its quality. Let's look at each element in detail:

T-shirt

When choosing a gym T-shirt, pay attention to its style. It should not be too loose so as not to catch on the equipment. The best choice is a slightly tight T-shirt that does not restrict movement. So-called “rashguards” are very good – clothing specially designed for training. But they are quite expensive, so you can wait with the purchase.

When choosing, pay attention to the quality of the seams, they should be even and strong. You can opt for a cotton T-shirt, but cotton will get wet very quickly, so you should pay attention to more modern materials that remove sweat and maintain heat exchange, important factors for sportswear.

Shorts

Pants and breeches are not the best choice for the gym. Their excessive length will cause a lot of trouble, especially during squats. That is why it is better to choose shorts that do not reach the knees. An exception may be compression pants, specially created for sports, on the same principles as the "rashguard"

When trying on shorts, try doing some intense squats in the fitting room. They should not slip down, catch on your knees, or cause discomfort. Pay attention to how the shorts are fastened. The lacing can come undone at the most inopportune moment. It is better to choose shorts with Velcro.

Shoes

Choosing sneakers for a fitness club is much more difficult than choosing clothes. Incorrectly chosen shoes can turn every workout into torture, while a comfortable pair will bring comfort and pleasure.

Take shoes strictly according to your size. Contrary to popular belief, a spare size "under the toe" is the reason for early disposal - they simply become uncomfortable. If the pair you are trying on is tight, but fits in size, it is enough to re-lace the sneakers in your own way.

Test the flex line of the shoe. To do this, press the toe of the sneaker against the floor with force and bend your foot - the flex line of the shoe should be in the same place as the flex line of the foot. Otherwise, frequent wearing of shoes that are not in harmony with the foot can lead to the development of flat feet.

The last tip will help you get used to your new shoes from the very first day in the gym. A week before visiting the gym, start breaking in your sneakers at home, wearing them for an hour a day. This will help you understand whether the shoes are right for you.

Never visit the gym in flip-flops, slippers, or street shoes. This is not only a sign of bad manners, but also a direct path to injury. Be sure to wear socks, this will do a good service to both your shoes and your health.
