Everything was gear-based as opposed to skill-based."Fergusson added, "I think the fact that we have skills on the equipment Diablo 4 Gold is really nice for experimentation -- as a sorceress I [might] get Blizzard [on a pair of boots] three levels before I should and I can try Blizzard to see if I actually want it."

Game designer Joe Shely told Polygon in the course of a roundtable discussion the idea of "having your character feel like a collection of choices you made can lead to interesting choices, or at least interesting opportunities."Shely stated that the Diablo group is conscious that the players especially at the beginning of their journey, will not be fully aware of the various classes' abilities. It is expected that players want to explore.

"When you examine our respec systems," Shely said, "which include both the skill tree and Paragon for the higher levels which is our ultimate progression system, we've focused on approaching it in a way which makes you feel that making a choice is critical as does your character. not like everyone else's character, but that you're in a position to have lots of choice to try things out.

"You've got the ability to change the spec of a point by point. Simply click to despend a single point and put it towards the other item, but as you get deeper into levels, the cost rises to make decisions a bit more thought-provoking. Of course, you may modify your whole tree in one sitting if wish to build it from the beginning."

Fergusson said that as players go deeper and more deeply into their character "the value of the game's currency respect increases -- and eventually you'll come to the point where you're at level 90 Barbarian and instead of changing my build it's better to roll a new Barbarian and then start from scratch."
