Introducing the All-Titanium Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin 41mm
A lightweight remix of the RD2 has arrived.
If you want to play a hit like AP, sometimes you have to consider a special remix, and the band from Les Brassus has just announced a special edition of the Concept RD#2. Building on the success of its recent sister model, this new model makes a splash with more titanium, less platinum, a new dial, and limited production. I'm in love with it.
Allow me to elaborate. The Ultra-Thin 41mm RD#2 was introduced in 2018 as a platinum concept (the watch is shown below, extremely rare, equally cool, and very substantial on the wrist). In 2019, AP released the Royal Oak Automatic Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin RD#2 reference 26586IP.OO.1240IP.01, featuring a new no-strike dial design and mixed materials, with the majority of the watch in titanium, with the exception of the bezel and bracelet middle links – these were made in platinum and produced in very limited quantities, but were not part of a specific numbered edition. With the latest release, the world is getting a second “run” of the RD#2, this time limited to 200 units.
